DESTINY 2 GAMEPLAY – WHAT'S NEW?

We've included the gameplay premiere below if you fancy catching up. After that, we've rounded up all the details you'll need on the big reveal.

So far, Bungie has confirmed that all PvP content has been refitted for 4-player teams. In addition, Raids can now be played by everyone and not just those who have a massively experienced fireteam put together. We've also got live gameplay of 'Homecoming,' a quest that has you playing through the assault from the original reveal trailer.
Destiny 2 will feature a new solo campaign known as the 'Red War' with more cinematics than ever before, and you'll even spend some missions working alongside beloved NPC characters. A new strike known as 'The Inverted Spire' will take you to The Nexus, one of a few new planets. Of course, brand new exotic weapons and armour are here, and they're plentiful. Other new planets include Titan, Earth, Nessus and Io.
Guardians can look forward to a selection of new sub-classes, each with their own special abilities. First up is Dawnblade (Warlock) who can fly through the air raining down a load of fiery projectiles. Sentinel (Titan) can equip a formidable shield to charge or deflect enemy attacks. Finally, there is Arcstriker (Hunter) wielding a thunderous staff that can be used for up close and personal melee encounters.

Crucible is now 4v4 across every game mode. The UI has been updated to make gameplay easy for newcomers yet equally as difficult for passionate veterans.
During the gameplay reveal, Bungie revealed Countdown, a new mode coming to Destiny 2. All of this can be launched without even leaving the tower. No more going into orbit! Loot from Destiny 1 will not carry over, but you can import your tried-and-true guardian to the sequel. Bungie has plans to reward veteran players with a few extra goodies, too.
Destiny 2 will incorporate clan support directly into the game, meaning you can bring your friends together inside The Tower instead of a cumbersome skype chat. Clans will also have their own unique reward system, meaning you and your friends could earn bonus loot from simply working together. Guided Games is a new feature that allows new players to partner with experienced clans. This way, you can finish raids and strikes you'd otherwise find inaccessible without some friends.

DESTINY 2 BETA – HOW DO I GET ACCESS?

The beta for Destiny 2 will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC for those who pre-order the standard and limited edition versions of the game. When this will take place is yet to be confirmed.

DESTINY 2 RELEASE DATE - WHEN IS IT COMING OUT?

Destiny 2 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on September 8, Bungie has confirmed. Pre-ordering now will grant you early access to the upcoming beta.
Bungie has said it "cannot commit" to a PC release date just yet, but it will be launching exclusively through Blizzard's Battlenet client.

DESTINY 2 STORY - WHAT'S GOING DOWN?

Taking place after the events of the first game, The Tower has been left in ruin by a new group of enemies known as the Red Legion, a force commanded by Primus Ghaul. Little else is known about this threat, beyond that you and your fellow guardians must do everything you can to defeat them and take back your home. Ranging from advanced soldiers to feral dog-like creatures, you'll certainly have your hands full.

Familiar characters are also set to make a return in Destiny 2. The Vanguard, formed of Cayde-6, Ikora Rey and Commander Zavala, will be around to lead the fight and help Guardians upgrade their arsenal and earn new equipment. How you'll go about taking back Earth remains a mystery, as do the new planets and environments you'll explore throughout Destiny 2.
